Starting therapy isn't easy, but scheduling your first session is often the hardest part of the entire journey. You’ve already done the heavy lifting by showing up.
I have worked in the mental health field for over 15 years with a variety of different populations. From kids and adults with special needs, individuals who have been impacted by the justice system, individuals who are working through addictions, and sexual relationship challenges.
Treatment topics that I have experience with include anxiety, trauma, depression, personality disorders, relationships and sexual health topics, addiction, and other various topics.
Hi, I’m Elisa. I specialize in supporting women of all ages and stages in life, especially mothers and caregivers, through anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, and the many emotional shifts that come with motherhood and womanhood. Whether you’re a new mom, returning to work, coping with postpartum changes, grieving a loss, or simply feeling overwhelmed by the many roles you carry, you don’t have to do it alone. I’m deeply passionate about supporting women through the emotional shifts that come with pregnancy, postpartum, identity changes, and the ongoing evolution of motherhood and womanhood.
If it feels like everything is falling apart, your emotions feel heavy or confusing, or you barely recognize yourself anymore, I get it, because I’ve lived it. I work with women who are exhausted from worrying, caregiving, and carrying it all, and who are ready to find steadiness, relief, and a sense of themselves again.
I understand firsthand how these seasons can bring both joy and overwhelm. From early motherhood to balancing career and family, to navigating hormonal and identity changes later in life, therapy can be a place to slow down, breathe, and reconnect with yourself—not who you think you “should” be, but who you are becoming.
**I am bilingual and offer therapy in both Spanish and English
I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology from West Chester University and my master's degree in Clinical Social Work from San Diego State University. I have worked in community mental health providing mental health services to those suffering from severe and persistent mental illness, as a program manager for community mental health clinics.I currently have a private practice where I provide psychotherapy to individuals 18 and over utilizing an eclectic approach.
I support individuals through pregnancy, postpartum changes, birth trauma, infertility, miscarriage, and infant loss. Many of my clients are navigating anxiety, depression, grief, and more. I also help parents work through identity shifts and the stress of new parenthood.
I hope my clients walk away feeling empowered and reconnected to their own selves. I want you to gain a toolbox to manage emotional regulation and feel more in control of your journey. Ultimately, I want you to feel supported as you rediscover joy and balance in your life.
Finding the right therapist is difficult. Especially when trauma and previous pain tells you you are alone, you are judged, and you are always unsafe. Though fear would like you to believe you are better off doing this on your own, you know it’s not true. To heal, we must feel seen and understood, with support and guidance. This is truly my passion and I love connecting with my clients and helping them meet their specific goals.
I have over ten years of working in mental health settings, including in leadership. I am confident and unafraid in walking through pain and unique “problems” with my clients. I have helped many find relief from childhood trauma, attachment wounds, anxiety, depressive symptoms, PTSD, relationship problems, and destructive ways of coping such as substance use. I am also certified in EMDR therapy and perinatal (pregnant and postpartum) mental health. (Pregnant and postpartum moms welcome!)
I commit to supporting your growth whilst challenging your outdated defense mechanisms. Old patterns got you this far, and my Gestalt training allows me to see your obstacles as creative adjustments. I will empower you to choose, consciously, what works and what works no longer.
My passion is to help others find more joy and meaning in their lives. I work creatively and collaboratively with adults, teens, and children to explore the heart of the matter. I have experience working in the schools, with a team at a counseling clinic, and in private practice. I specialize with teenagers and their families and moving into couples work as well.
