Hi, I’m Danielle Roxborough, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and founder of Love is a Verb Counseling. I work with couples and individuals through a trauma-informed, relational lens because I believe relationships are where we experience both our deepest wounds and our greatest healing. My work integrates the Gottman Method, attachment-based therapy, EFT and DBT skills, and I specialize in supporting neurodivergent individuals and partnerships. I’m also a certified Fair Play Method facilitator, helping couples build more balanced, collaborative partnerships at home.
I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with clinical training and licensure in California, Illinois, and Wisconsin. I work with adults, teens, couples, and families navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, relationship concerns, and major life transitions. My background includes working with individuals from diverse cultural, relational, and identity backgrounds, and I am especially affirming of queer, non-monogamous, and marginalized communities. I bring a strong social justice lens to my work and value therapy that is thoughtful, inclusive, and grounded in real-world context. I show up authentically with my unofficial therapy dog, Willow.
I have a passion for helping people to feel safe on the inside so that they can thrive in the world outside. I want to support my clients to take part in their treatment goals and begin to work toward feeling better in order to live the lives they want.
