As a licensed marriage and family therapist in CA with a MA in Clinical Psychology, I have been in practice for over twelve years.
I'm a clinical social worker coming from a background in community mental health. I've worked with client's from diverse backgrounds with various challenges and mental health needs. I focus on supporting individuals with OCD, phobias, panic disorder, and anxiety disorders.
I’m a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) who has been practicing since 2008. My background includes a PhD in Industrial-Organizational Psychology, an MS in Counseling, and more than 15 years of experience helping adults, leaders, and professionals navigate stress, burnout, career transitions, identity questions, and life changes.
I’ve worked in university counseling settings, healthcare organizations, and private practice, and I’ve taught graduate-level counseling courses at Portland State University. I bring a supportive, grounded, and collaborative style to therapy, integrating both clinical training and my experience working closely with managers, executives, and professionals. I’m committed to creating a safe, respectful space where you can explore what’s working, what’s not, and what you want for yourself moving forward.
My name is Dr. David Shepard and I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist based in California, and I work with individual adults statewide via telehealth. I am also a Certified Sex Therapy Informed Professional, and a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional. When it comes to therapy, I tailor therapy to each individual with respect to their cultural backgrounds, and their intersecting identities that they bring into the therapeutic relationship.
I’m a Taiwanese American therapist who works with second-generation immigrants, people of color, women of color, and queer folks navigating the pain of disconnection—from self, from family, and from the world around them. Whether you're carrying intergenerational trauma, struggling with self-worth, or moving through the quiet grief of not having had space to simply be—you’re not alone.
Many of the people I work with are holding complex identities and untold stories: navigating cultural differences, the pressure to meet others’ expectations, or the silent weight of being “strong” for everyone else. You may find yourself questioning who you are, what you need, or how to trust your own voice.
As a daughter of immigrants, I understand how difficult it can be to navigate your sense of identity and self across differences in values systems and beliefs. My work is shaped by Buddhist values of compassion, loving-kindness and patience of the full human experience.
