As a queer, first-generation American woman, I know what it is like to feel misunderstood, underrepresented, and unheard in a therapy room. I specialize in working with diverse individuals and couples, particularly those with QTBIPOC identities and creative backgrounds. My approach to counseling is trauma-informed, emotion-focused, and grounded in attachment theory.
My practice is unique because I integrate strength-based and person-centered approach using CBT, mindfulness techniques, culturally sensitive, humanistic approach tailored support precisely to your needs. This allows us to find the pathways that work best for you, whether through conversation, practical skill-building, or other gentle, effective ways of exploring and healing.
My name is Diana Montero. I am a Bilingual Licensed Clinical Social worker. I bring over 7 years of clinical experience supporting adolescents, adults, couples and families through anxiety, stress, and complex life challenges. I worked closely with diverse clients, helping reduce barriers to care and ensuring clients feel understood, respected, and supported.
I am a compassionate and driven, Licensed Professional Counselor who enjoys working in various fields of Mental Health, from Adolescents ages 14 years to Adults. I specialize working with individuals with anxiety, depression, anger, OCD, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Psychosis, Mood Disorders, ADHD, ODD, and Trauma.
I hold 11 years of experience working in Mental Health from out-patient to in-patient.
As a therapist, I have experience working with adults and children. I utilize a trauma-informed approach.
Embarking on our therapeutic journey together, I want to affirm a fundamental truth: "You are the expert of your life." This statement serves as a cornerstone. Your voice deserves to be heard, your story deserves to be understood, and your emotions deserve to be validated. Whether you're grappling with the daily demands of life, processing past traumas, or feeling overwhelmed by it all, my aim is to create a nurturing environment where you feel empowered to face your challenges head-on.
Many of the adults I work with grew up feeling unseen—whether because of childhood trauma, emotionally unavailable parents, or painful relationship patterns. Those early experiences can stay with us, shaping the way we see ourselves and connect with others. Over time, it can feel like you’re stuck in the same cycles, questioning your worth, or struggling to build the relationships you want.
Becoming a therapist felt like a natural calling: a way to combine compassion with practical tools to help people heal, grow, and find balance. Over the years, I’ve seen how therapy can transform lives—restoring hope, strengthening relationships, and helping clients rewrite the stories they tell themselves. That transformation is what inspires me every day to do this work with warmth, empathy, and genuine care. I absolutely love what I do and I feel very blessed to do this work everyday.
The menopause season can bring unexpected emotional and mental health challenges- even for women who have never struggles with anxiety, mood changes or sleep challenges before. You may be experiencing new or intensified anxiety, anger, panic symptoms, health concerns, or a persistent sense of unease. This often feels confusing, and disruptive, to our daily living. Many women describe feeling unlike themselves and are unsure where to turn for support. It is my belief that we all have an innate resiliency to heal a wounded mind or a broken heart. Our work together aims to nurture what is already inside, to help understand your challenges and fortify your strengths.
