I’m an advocate for mental health issues willing to aid you in your needs to help you achieve your mental health wellness goals one day at a time.
My mission is to support individuals in resiliency building, healing, and life restoration.
I specialize in helping adults cope with a variety of issues including anxiety, relationship issues, motivation, self-esteem, confidence, and career difficulties.
My name is Malinda, and I am a licensed professional counselor supervisor. I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology from Argosy University, my graduate degree in Forensic Psychology with a concentration in Law Enforcement from Argosy University, and my graduate degree in Counseling from Dallas Baptist University. I worked with probationers for three years providing counseling services at a private practice and taught Marijuana Intervention, Life Skills, and the DWI Safety Education Course. I have worked at two hospitals, one as a Mental Health Technician while in graduate school and then as a Treatment Manager at another hospital once completing that degree. From there I have continued to work in private practice. I work with individuals (adults and children from ages 12 and up), couples, and families.
I addition, I work with military and those in law enforcement. I specialize in addiction, trauma, personality and mood disorders, eating disorders, LGBTQ+, criminal behavior, self-harm, obsessive-compulsive disorder, anger management, Autism, ADHD, single parenting, chronic illness, and rare diseases. I provide Christian counseling upon request.
I am grateful to have the privilege of being a therapist and bearing witness to the pain and healing of the clients with whom I work. There is much that is difficult and scary in the world and we all are navigating dynamics that cause us pain. I work to offer clients a space to process the injuries they carry from the broader world and also from the intimate world of family, friends, and other relationships. I invite clients to bring the complete selves, even the parts that are hard to be with.
I graduated from the University of Wyoming with a degree in Social Work. While working with a wide range of populations, including teenagers, couples, and substance-using populations, I have had the opportunity to work with middle, and high school students in a school.
I moved to Texas in 2021 with my three youngest children (15, 16, and 20). I’m so excited to be back near the Latino culture, While I’m not there yet, my goal is to regain my previous Spanish language skills and become more fluent!
