I would be honored to help you navigate your life challenges. I have worked with many adults who are experiencing caring for loved ones, life changes in residence, health and circumstances, as well as those coping with the changes that getting older bring. Many individuals are overwhelmed by these issues and are having a difficult time finding a "new normal."
I have 30 plus years of behavioral healthcare experience. I like to tailor my approach to meet each individual with his or her needs.
I work to approach therapy first of all with warmth, recognizing that emotional resonance is the primary engine of a healing relationship. I work to help my clients attune to the hurts associated with their inner child wounds, which lead to the fragmentation of the self, through cultivating the strength of their whole and healthy integrated self.
I have over 12 years' experience working with teens, adults, and families in stressful situations. I have worked inpatient hospitalization, School-Based, ESFT, and Drug & Alcohol throughout the years. I am licensed in the state of PA and working on certification in EMDR and Perinatal Mental Health.
Gianna L. Harris is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW/LCSW-C) in the state of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Delaware State University and her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh.
Gianna is the Chief Executive Officer and lead clinician for Gettin’ My Mind Right LLC. She previously worked with patients diagnosed with depression, anxiety, and Bipolar Disorder. She works with patients to increase self-awareness, self-love, manage symptoms of depression, anxiety, managing life transitions, goal setting, and learning how to improve interpersonal skills. Gianna’s patients have found success when they are motivated and open to learning new skills and utilizing the skills outside of therapy sessions.
Additionally, Gianna provides clinical supervision to aspiring clinicians seeking to obtain their LCSW, LMFT or LPC. Gianna currently works at a local university helping social work students find their internships.
Outside work, Gianna also attends a non-denominational church, spending time with family, particularly her sister and niece. She loves spending time with her nieces and friends, baking, painting, writing, traveling, enjoying the spa, and going to museums.
