I am a first generation Afro-Caribbean, born and raised New Yorker from the Bougie down Bronx and proud mother of one. I am compassionate about working with adult women and BIPOC individuals. Throughout my mental health experience, I have treated clients with anxiety, depression, and trauma. My passion is in trauma, most specifically generational trauma. I hold a Master's degree in Social Work from Adelphi University and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Hunter College.
During these chaotic and unpredictable times, it is natural to be experiencing difficulties. Fun, joy, connection, and community are difficult to access and impact wellbeing. I specialize in treating symptoms of anxiety, autism, adhd, depression and multicultural issues. I avoid labeling diagnoses (decolonizing when possible) and work to treat you holistically. We work on communication, focusing, frustration tolerance strategies through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with an anti-oppressive lens.
I hold a Bachelor's degree in Forensic Psychology and a Master's in Social Work, with 15 years of experience in the field—six of those in clinical practice. Throughout my career, I have worked with children, youth, adults, families, veterans, the elderly, marginalized and vulnerable populations, and individuals impacted by substance use. My diverse experience has deepened my commitment to providing compassionate, effective support tailored to each person's unique needs.
I am dual board-certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and a Family Nurse Practitioner. After several years in clinical practice, I earned my doctoral degree in 2021. My professional experience spans both behavioral and family health, with a focus on hospital-based behavioral health units, partial hospitalization programs, and intensive outpatient care.
I specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of mental health conditions, including ADHD, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, OCD, panic disorder, PTSD, and more. My approach is rooted in evidence-based practice, with an emphasis on holistic, collaborative care. Together, we will create a personalized treatment plan that supports your unique needs, goals, and values through a shared decision-making process.
Above all, I am committed to fostering a supportive, judgment-free environment and to addressing healthcare disparities in mental health. If you are struggling, know that you don’t have to face it alone. I am here to help you move forward with compassion, expertise, and care.
I have been in private practice in Westchester, NY since 2016, and I am licensed in New York State. I received my Masters in Social Work (MSW) from Columbia University in 2009 and my Bachelors from Colgate University in 2007.
I can help you manage Anxiety, Depression, parenting challenges, and relationship issues.
I am dedicated to creating a supportive and collaborative space where you can feel heard and understood. My work is guided by a passion for helping individuals navigate challenges, uncover their strengths, and achieve personal growth. I prioritize staying up-to-date with the latest evidence-based practices through ongoing learning and professional development.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker practicing as a Psychotherapist, I believe in prioritizing mental health while also being aware of the mind-body connection. I have been practicing for almost 20 years in the community, local school districts, as well as in private practice. I am shifting my focus to my private practice to help meet the needs of those experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, and other life transitions in all ages of life (youth and adults).
I truly look forward to working with you!
