I specialize in adolescents, young adults, and adults. I help develop coping strategies using DBT and CBT skills that produce successful outcomes. As a teacher in the public school systems for over 25 years, I have worked with learning difficulties and social emotional issues caused by all the environmental stressors our generation has to manage.
My approach to therapy is collaborative, individualized, and grounded in both evidence-based practices and real human connection. I believe that no two people are the same, so therapy should not be one-size-fits-all. I work closely with each client to understand their experiences, goals, and strengths, and tailor my approach accordingly.
I tend to be warm, direct, and engaged in sessions. I value honesty and open communication, and I encourage clients to share feedback so we can adjust the process to best meet their needs. Therapy is a space where you should feel safe, respected, and understood.
I draw from a variety of approaches depending on what is most helpful, including CBT, ACT, DBT, EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Gottman methods for couples work. Whether we are working through trauma, relationship challenges, substance use, or life stressors, my goal is to help you gain insight, build practical tools, and move forward in a way that feels sustainable and meaningful.
What can clients expect from their first session with you?People can expect a little break down of helpful ways to "do therapy." If the client is interested, I can give more information about myself, otherwise, depending on the client's comfort level, I will start asking questions about their life from birth to now, their support systems, work, what brought them to seek therapy, and things of that nature to help paint a picture of who they are so I know best how to help.

Hello and thank you for taking a moment to get to know me! I’m a dedicated therapist with extensive experience across the lifespan, working with clients as young as toddlers to older adults well into their 90s. I hold a master’s in clinical counseling and mental health and am advancing my training in a PhD program in Psychology. My clinical journey spans all levels of care from inpatient settings to outpatient therapy where I have supported individuals, couples, and families through a wide range of mental health and substance use challenges. I specialize in working with complex diagnoses and am deeply committed to addressing difficult issues rather than avoiding them. I bring a holistic approach as an individual, family, and couples’ therapist, creating a compassionate and empowering space where clients feel truly seen and supported. I have worked extensively with mental health, trauma, relationship dynamics, and substance use, always striving to help clients build resilience, regain confidence, and reconnect with themselves and loved ones. My aim is to promote lasting change by helping clients challenge unhelpful patterns, strengthen emotional connections, and reclaim agency in their lives. I’m honored to walk alongside each person and family on their unique path toward healing and growth.
Hello! My name is Tajuddin Abdullah, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with experience providing individual therapy across partial hospitalization and residential programs, as well as within New Jersey public schools.
I enjoy working with clients of all ages, with a particular passion for supporting adolescents, teenagers, and young adults as they build self-esteem, strengthen resilience and communication skills, and set realistic, achievable goals.
I’ll take time to understand what brings you to counseling, explore your goals, and discuss any challenges you may be facing. Together, we’ll identify strategies and approaches that best fit your needs.
Outside of counseling, I enjoy spending time with my family, taking mini vacations, competing in cornhole, and talking about my favorite Philadelphia sports teams.
