Let me share a little bit about myself. I am a licensed counselor in both Illinois and Indiana, with seven years of experience providing talk therapy. I have had the privilege to work with clients across the lifespan in various settings, including community mental health, child welfare, education and integrated care environments. I am passionate about helping individuals navigate challenges such as depression, anxiety, women’s issues, grief and loss, and relationship issues. In addition, I have experience addressing concerns surrounding life transitions, spirituality and intergenerational and complex trauma.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I believe everyone deserves a safe and affirming space to explore their experiences and emotions. Hello! I'm Alyssa Norbeck and I'm a LCSW in IL. I understand that it can feel vulnerable to begin therapy, but I'm passionate about making therapy a safe space where you feel heard and understood. I received my Master's in Social Work from USC. I've worked with different age groups presenting with a range of clinical issues in both individual and group settings, including private practice, mental health and substance use IOP, crisis management and stabilization, EAP, and in SNF/long term care.
Len Schmelkin is a LICSW who specializes in treating anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, in adults and families. Len completed his graduate training at the University of Wisconsin. He is completing his certicated in family therapy at the Intensive Family Therapy Program in Boston.
Education and Credentials: I hold a Master of Science Ed. from Purdue University, where I specialized in clinical mental health and addiction. I am also Certified in Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) as well as Perinatal Mental Health Counselor (PMH-C). My academic background, combined with my extensive clinical experience, equips me to address a wide range of psychological and emotional concerns.
