I use a strength-based, solution-focused approach in my work with clients. I hold an Associate’s degree in Humanities, an Associate’s degree in Social and Behavioral Science, a Bachelor of Science in Sociology, and a Master’s degree in Social Work.
My master’s thesis, which examined the client–worker relationship, was published and involved three years of focused study. I am also the author of a book addressing sexual abuse and the desensitization process.
Professionally, I have provided counseling services to adolescents and children in school settings and have worked one-on-one with clients for over ten years, consistently applying a solution-focused framework to support meaningful and sustainable change.
I believe an important part of therapy is connection. I offer a safe, non-judgmental space to process emotions taking into consideration the whole person. I have experience working with at-risk youth and families who are struggling with various challenges such as PTSD, trauma, depression, anxiety, mood disorders and personality disorders.
I strive to create a comfortable environment where you feel safe to be your true self. Im here as a trusted partner that you can confide in, but also to challenge you and help you grow. I often will give you homework/activities /reflections/ to focus on in-between sessions.
I believe that psychotherapy is one of the best gifts you can give yourself. Whether you are interested in therapy in order to deal with challenges you have already identified in your life, or you are seeking therapy to connect to yourself, my aim is help you carve out a path and live a more meaningful life.
