I earned my master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute, where my training emphasized depth-oriented and integrative psychotherapy alongside evidence-based treatment.
My clinical background includes experience across a variety of settings and treatment modalities. I have worked as a behavior interventionist providing ABA-based support, as well as a play therapist supporting children and families through developmentally informed, relational interventions. I have also practiced as a Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapist, integrating preparation, dosing-session support, and integration work within an ethical and client-centered framework. Additionally, I participated as a clinician in the MAPS Phase III clinical trial for MDMA-assisted psychotherapy for PTSD, an experience that deepened my understanding of trauma treatment, research-informed care, and the careful integration of emerging therapeutic modalities. Earlier in my career, I worked as an academic coach providing specialized support to children and adolescents with ADHD and learning differences. I have also facilitated therapeutic support groups and led introduction meetings at Cancer Support Community Redondo Beach, further strengthening my group facilitation skills and my commitment to accessible, compassionate community-based care.
As a solution-focused therapist, my goal is to help you uncover your true potential and lead a life that is worth celebrating. While we can't change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life.
Hi, I’m Danielle Roxborough, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and founder of Love is a Verb Counseling. I work with couples and individuals through a trauma-informed, relational lens because I believe relationships are where we experience both our deepest wounds and our greatest healing. My work integrates the Gottman Method, attachment-based therapy, EFT and DBT skills, and I specialize in supporting neurodivergent individuals and partnerships. I’m also a certified Fair Play Method facilitator, helping couples build more balanced, collaborative partnerships at home.
With more than 15 years in clinical practice as a psychologist, I have partnered with individuals and families experiencing significant change and hardships.
I work with people ages 13 to 85. Some of the issues I specialize in are adjustment issues, self-esteem, social pressure, issues you may be dealing with that may expected or unexpected.
